As a paperboy I received two free theater passes every month from the newspaper. There were plenty of choices, but I always wanted to see the movie that was rated for “Mature” audiences, hoping to hear swear-words and see naked girls. In those days the only way to get that was sneaking into an “R” rated movie and since I was only 14-years old, it didn’t happen. This particular month the best we could do for an adult oriented movie was “Wild in the Streets.” The poster’s showed girls and bands so we figured it had to be ok. It wasn’t a great movie, but it did have a fantastic soundtrack. I still remember the plot; the political climate was riotous, and the youth had taken over the country with the goal of lowering the voting age to 14. The law stated that anyone over 30 were forced into “retirement homes” and forced to take LSD. The point was to show how screwed up things were and that young people wanted a say in government. I was 14-years old and saw 30-years old as ancient and an age I wouldn’t reach in (facetiously)100 years! So here I am turning 65, Shit! When did this happen?
